CF Social Action Project

April 8, 2009

“We don’t believe in waiting for the day after a general election victory to make the changes our party advocates”

This weekend Central Devon and Newton Abbot CF joined one of our PPCs, Anne Marie Morris, at  a litter pick in Dawlish. The litter pick was in conjunction with the local Dawlish Youth Council.

In our various Social Action projects we aim to help the local communities in which we live. One of the aims of the Conservative Party is to increase a feeling of community in our towns and cities and give power back to local people, in order to affect positive changes.

To join us on our next Social Action initiative please see our Facebook Supporters Group or email us.

New Brown ‘Slip’!

February 4, 2009

During PMQs today Brown used the ‘D’ word. He let out that the ‘world is in depression’. Either this is a freudian slip like his ‘I saved the world’ gaffe before Christmas, or depression is really being thought about by the mandarins in the Treasury. Brown keeps on saying that the Conservatives are talking Britain down, but Brown is talking the whole world down, by hinting at a world wide depression. Already there are murmurings form abroad as his comments provoke ridicule.

As polls suggest its the Conservatives that people are looking to, to bring us out of this mess that Brown has given to us.

Breaking News!!!

January 18, 2009

Sky News and ConservativeHome are reporting that Ken Clarke has been brought into the Shadow Cabinet as Shadow Business Secretary. His promotion will give the Conservatives a ‘big hitter’ to attack Brown’s economic policy with. As Chancellor under Major’s government he gave the country a ‘golden inheritance’, in the years before Labour came to power, which was recklessly squandered under this incompetent Labour government. CD-NA CF welcomes this opportune appointment.

New YouGov Poll Gives Tories a big lead!!!

January 17, 2009

A new YouGov Poll in the Sunday Times gives the Conservatives a huge boost since the last YouGive poll taken before the Christmas recess. It’s lead is 3 points up on the last poll released a few days ago, and consequently have doubled the lead over Labour since before the Christmas recess.

It looks like Labour’s strategy on the economy isn’t winning over the public, who each day, see more people losing their jobs and see more businesses on the High Street failing. The British public are starting to realise that the Labour Government has caused the economic woes and that the Conservatives offer Hope and ‘the Change that we need’

Conservatives – 45% (+4)
Labour – 32% (-2)
Lib Dems – 14% (-1)

Conservative Majority of 96 is predicted by the UK Polling Report Swing Calculator.

“Gordon Brown bounce fades as Conservatives return to huge poll lead” – The Times

The Times are showing that the Conservatives have leaped ahead in the polls with a 10 point lead!

It looks like Cameron’s policy of fiscal responsibility and saving for the future is winning against Brown’s policy of a debt binge.

“Mr Cameron is now ahead by 43 to 31 per cent in leading Britain forward after the next election”  - The Times.

Dad’s Nose, Mum’s Eyes and Gordon Brown’s Debt

January 12, 2009

CCHQ today announced a new poster and video (YouTube) campaign. The first is a short YouTube video that shows us that a newborn that can’t even criticise the government, or vote, will be saddled with Brown’s debt crisis. The second is a more thorough critique of Labour’s mismanagement of the impending recession.

With youth and graduate unemployment on the rise, Labour will have a whole generation that will remember never to vote for Labour because of the coming recession. As Conservatives we need to espouse fiscal responsibility and make known to people Labour’s chronic love of debt will make the recession longer and more painful.

Labour’s plans for graduate internships for 3 months will not help the majority of graduates. Internships are used for cheap labour, only paying a very low wage if at all a wage. How does the government expect graduates to afford to live on internships, when they have student debt to pay off? This is just another cynical attempt by the government to keep graduate unemployment off the books.

Blair “jokes” that the Boom was “luck”! Brown Infuriated.

January 2, 2009

According to The Sun Blair made a quip against Brown’s economic policy when he was speaking to a packed lecture theatre in Yale University, America. He said that the Economic Boom under Blair’s Premiership was down to “luck” and not to Brown’s stewardship of the Economy. Brown is reported to be infuriated. Blair said;

“We had ten years of record growth when I was PM. I have, unfortunately, come to the conclusion it was luck”

Later one of his aides said that Blair was joking. Well its funny that Brown doesn’t see it that way.
